Our handlers in France decided they wanted to raise money for the Royal British Legion.  The charity has struggled this year with fund raising.  Many of our handlers have a connection to the military and wanted to support the amazing work carried out by the Royal British Legion.

The team decided they would do a 5k run around a nearby lake and organised the ‘5k Poppy Appeal Run’, which took place on 26 November.

Wagtail is contracted by the UK Border Force to provide ‘Body Detection Dogs’ in Northern France 24/7, 365 days a year.  This is organised into two shifts working days and nights.  The first lot of handlers finished their day shift to complete their 5k run with great enthusiasm (along with the dogs!). The night shift handlers then woke up earlier to smash their 5k before starting work!

The initial target was to raise £1,000.  The team smashed this and raised a total of £1,440!  Well done to everyone involved.
